“Fiction is the lie through which we tell the truth,” ~ philosopher and writer Albert Camus.
As I am nearing the end of the first draft of my new book The Man In Number 7, I realize the impact of Albert’s statement. Yes, this book is fiction. And yet it begins with people and events from my childhood. There is truth in this book. And it’s a painful truth. A truth of my mother’s breakdown when I was little, the abuse of my alcoholic step-father, and our escape into an old apartment building on the corner of 5th and Myrtle Streets in Boise in 1961. All this is true. And all this is in my new novel.
Stay tuned, I think you’ll find it a perfect blend of Hitchcock and King.
So excited to read this!!
